Searching for the perfect appetizer to bring to your next party? Great! We have just the thing.
This bruschetta is everything salty, creamy, crunchy and flavorful. And don’t even get me started on this honey-balsamic glaze. It’s lick-your-spoon good. Literally.
Here’s what I love about this appetizer.
- You know how bringing food to a party at someone else’s house always means your dish will get cold or you may need to ask the question “can I pop this in your oven for a few minutes?” This bruschetta is best served room temp. Problem solved.
- Minimal prep for you. I love the idea of doing a “make your own bruschetta” station so the bread doesn’t get soggy from having the bruschetta topping sitting on it for too long. You can just put out a basket of toasted bread, a bowl of bruschetta topping, goat cheese and the honey-balsamic to drizzle.
- The limited prep you do need to do can be done in advance.
The mouth-watering components + techniques.
The honey-balsamic will keep for a couple weeks in your fridge, so make that ahead of time for sure.
The bruschetta topping is even better after sitting together for hours to let all the flavors come together.
You can cut and grill or toast the bread earlier in the day and just throw it in a bowl or bread basket once it’s no longer warm (you don’t want it getting soggy from steaming on itself).
We used our grill pan to get these pretty grill marks on the bread. You could also cook it in a dry skillet over medium heat or pop it into the oven on a dry sheet pan until toasted.
The flavor adventure.
The tomatoes are so fresh.
The bacon is salty.
The goat cheese is creamy.
The toasted bread is crunchy.
And a subtle sweetness, twang and depth of flavor from the honey-balsamic glaze.
Consider this a well balanced meal. It’s got starch from the bread, protein from the bacon and veggies (are tomatoes really veggies? Well…either way. It’s got fresh stuff – whether veggies or fruit).
That’s complete nutrition right there.
